Life skills in Action

The new Lifeskills In Action course is an opportunity for pupils in the Senior Phase to consolidate the skills they have developed in the BGE phase by working in the ASL Community Café and through other enterprising activities.  Looking at how to develop these skills in a practical and hands-on manner, this course will equip you with skills in planning, time management, money-handling and communication skills.   There will also be an opportunity for continued outdoor learning and the chance to work on some practical cookery too.

ASL Teachers

This course will be helpful for those pupils who are considering leaving school and heading straight into the workplace.  It will help support pupils who are keen to look at building their skills in working with others, problem solving and communication.  We aim to provide a course that will be practical and tailored to meet the needs of pupils who have accessed support from ASL/Connections or have been involved in supporting the Community Café and would like to be further involved in this during their time in the Senior Phase.

Building your skills in communication, team work, problem solving and developing your understanding of the business environment.  You will have the experience to put into practice skills that you may have developed in other Connections/ASL courses such as “Grow and Learn”, Princes Trust – or if you have helped out with the Community Café.
