The aim of the Web Design award is to develop the essential skills required to work in the web design and development sector. You will undertake three units that will steer you through the building blocks of web design and development: HTML and CSS, the use of images and graphics on websites, and how websites are extended by integrating interactivity.

5 periods per week

COURSEWORK

You will be assessed with a series of open and closed-book tests.   

The main assessment is a practical assignment aimed at combining all the skills and knowledge gained during the course.

This award aims to:  

  1. Provide an up-to-date curriculum, reflecting contemporary knowledge and skills in the subject domain.

  7. Stimulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) particularly among women  

This qualification comprises three component units:  

  

  1. Website design and development  

  2. Website graphics  

  3. Interactive media  

  

Website Design and Development to develop your basic web authoring skills.  

   

Website Graphics to develop your knowledge in the use of graphics within web design.  

  

Interactive Multimedia combines previously developed web authoring skills and teaches you how to extend these skills by adding computer programming code to enhance your websites.
