STUDENT STORIES

Information from pupils who have studied this course as to how they feel it was.

Rebecca - S5

I picked the Higher course in Admin and IT this year because I wanted a challenge of learning IT skills which is what I lacked before.  I have enjoyed the theory side of Admin which is where my strengths are but now I am starting to enjoy the practical side of it nearer the end of the course after I have got the hang of things.  I would recommend other pupils to take on this course as it has really helped me build confidence in my own computer skills and it has given me lots of practice of managing my own time.

I feel I did make the correct choice in choosing Higher Admin and IT as one of my subjects.  I enjoyed doing National 5 so I wanted to continue this subject.  I would recommend taking Higher Admin and IT even if you don’t want to pursue a career in it as having the IT skills will help you in any job.

Computers

Erin - S5

I decided to take Higher Administration and IT because I wanted to expand my knowledge of using different software.  This subject is useful as it has given me an understanding of how to use Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and lots more.  Nowadays most things are done online so having this experience will be beneficial for when I leave school.  I would recommend this subject to anyone thinking about taking it as I am learning lots of new skill, for example problem solving and decision making
